[ connor fades back into the depths of his head when the slammed door only gives way to the domestic sounds of hank walking his own house, dressing and doing whatever other things humans find necessary to do for the sake of their cleanliness. after fifteen minutes he finishes a thorough self-check, and then, sensing that there won't be anything else to do for a while, allows himself to switch to a deeper level of hibernation. the flicker of his blue LED changes instead to a steady blink, with about one-point-five seconds between each.
the processing of the sounds, sights, and sensations surrounding him are halted and placed on standby. an automatic timer is set for six am, in the case that hank doesn't wake him (or attempts to leave the house without him). he doesn't bother leaving any non-vital programs running in the background; he doesn't even set a proximity alert.
it's not that he trusts hank. it's just because he doesn't have the self-awareness to be concerned with his own safety that way. ]
